USEFUL
A generously shaped bowl with a large capacity that allows tea preparation directly within, such as for matcha (whisked tea) or any other tea using an infuser.
UNIQUE
This bowl is a one-of-a-kind piece, meaning no two are alike. It is crafted from porcelain and fired at a high temperature of 1300°C. Finely shaped by hand on a potter’s wheel, the bowl features a glossy, transparent glaze inside. The exterior is left as raw porcelain, coated with porcelain slip tinted with black iron oxide. This creates a distinctive interplay of shadow, light, and the translucency of porcelain.
PICTORIAL
Although undecorated, the surface is no less pictorial. The textured effect, achieved by stretching a porcelain slab, evokes a sense of a nocturnal landscape.
SENSORY
It is through individual experience that our senses are awakened, particularly touch. Beyond the visual appeal of the piece, its tactile surface tells the story of its creation. The turned base contrasts with the textured, raw porcelain wall, balancing smoothness and roughness.
DURABLE
Thanks to the composition of the glaze inside the bowl and the hardness of porcelain, this ceramic is food-safe. It is completely watertight, non-porous, and highly resistant to dishwasher wear. Only a violent impact could potentially damage it.
Depending on the tannin content of beverages such as coffee or certain teas, a natural patina may develop over time on the inner surface. Some may choose to keep it, while others can clean it with baking soda.
