The art of ceramics has undeniably become an integral part of the contemporary artistic and crafts landscape. Artists explore materials – clay, porcelain, enamels, and other unexpected elements – daring to be iconoclastic in their use of traditional techniques and achieving astonishing technical feats. This passion, which has also influenced other non-specialized artists, has sparked a growing and frenzied enthusiasm among numerous enthusiasts and collectors who are discovering or seeking new creations, conceptual interpretations, whether abstract or realistic. Art centers, fairs, exhibitions, galleries, and international museums dedicate a significant part of their activities to large-scale ceramic exhibitions.
The Glassmakers
Peter Bremers – Xavier Carrère – Elisabeth Decobert & Francis Bégou – Alain Guillot – Jean-François Lemaire – Jean-Claude Ourdouillie
Over the past twenty years, the art of glass has regained significant importance in 20th-century art history, much like ceramics holds a prominent place in the contemporary art scene. Despite the challenging nature of working with glass, it remains one of the materials that captivates numerous contemporary artists who create voluminous and sculptural art objects for indoor and outdoor settings. Their freedom of expression requires an immense level of skill and knowledge. In recent years, many large-scale experimental centers and collection venues have opened or expanded on an international level.
